A film recap: January 2012

I used to be good at logging each film I saw at the theaters and offering little snarky comments, but I have already fallen behind this year. Here’s a recap of the films that I’ve seen so far this year:

I’m happy to just say that every time I indulge in “The Secret Life of the American Teenager” I can say that I’m watching Golden Globe Nominee Shailene Woodley.

Pariah dir. Dee Rees

A poignant and moving film that explores one girl’s journey as she comes out to her parents. It’s heartbreaking and inspiring.

We Need to Talk About Kevin dir. Lynne Ramsay

This movie really made me want to have kids, because aren’t kids adorable? Especially when they become murderers.

The Grey dir. Joe Carnahan

Wolves! Oh my God, there are Wolves in the wilderness! Thank God you survived that plane crash so you can battle these wolves.
